Massive CNC Press Braking up to 15 Meters
In heavy industrial equipment manufacturing, the structural integrity of chassis, booms, and machine frames is paramount. Relying on welding multiple short plates end-to-end creates structural fatigue points and dramatically inflates non-destructive testing (NDT) costs.
Openex resolves this through our high-tonnage Tandem CNC Press Brakes. By synchronizing massive bending machinery, we can flawlessly fold heavy structural steel plates up to 15 meters long in a single, continuous pass. Whether forming U-channels for massive transportation trailers, multi-sided polygons for transmission towers, or V-bends for high-wear mining buckets, our equipment handles tonnage loads that shatter standard shop brakes.
The Openex Bending Advantage
Synchronized Tandem Press Braking
For extra-long geometries like commercial truck frames or telescopic crane booms, two massive CNC press brakes are networked to operate as a single unit. This ensures absolutely identical ram parallelism across lengths extending to 15m.
- ✔ Bends massive, un-welded structural profiles.
- ✔ CNC-controlled hydraulic crowning limits deflection.
- ✔ Lowers X-ray / UT inspection requirements by cutting total weld lengths.
Hardox & High-Yield Steel Bending
Abrasion-resistant plates (Hardox®, AR400, AR500) and high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steels feature immense yield strengths that require punishing tonnage. Because these materials aggressively resist folding, Openex utilizes heavy, custom V-dies, and advanced CNC spring-back compensation to nail tight tolerances without cracking the material.
- ✔ Up to 100mm plate thickness capability (varies by width and bend angle).
- ✔ Specialized bottoming and air-bending tools designed for immense point loads.
Advanced Multi-Axis Backgauging
Even the largest plates require exact edge alignments. Our heavy brakes are outfitted with heavy-duty multi-axis CNC backgauges capable of positioning plates measuring multiple tonnes safely and to micron accuracy. This translates to parts dropping exactly to spec every single time.
Press Brake Dimensional Capacities
Please note: maximum bend radius, angle, and thickness are interdependent factors tied directly to yield strength. Provide your material grade to our team for K-factor calculations.
