Tube sheets are highly critical components used extensively in shell and tube heat exchangers, boilers, and pressure vessels. Because they support and isolate hundreds (or thousands) of internal tubes, they require flawless machining, perfect flatness, and absolute precision in hole drilling.

Openex specializes in the fabrication and heavy CNC machining of large, oversized tube sheets. Utilizing our massive Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) and multi-axis deep hole drilling centers, we can manufacture tube sheets up to 8 meters in diameter, meeting the strictest ASME and TEMA standards.

The Manufacturing Process

Material Prep & Cladding

We source high-quality forgings or heavy plates. If the application requires corrosion resistance with structural strength, we handle explosive-clad or weld-overlay tube sheets (e.g., Titanium clad to Carbon Steel).

Heavy Machining (Turning & Facing)

Using massive Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), we machine the outer diameter and perfectly flatten both faces of the tube sheet to ensure a leak-proof seal.

Precision CNC Drilling

Our multi-axis CNC drilling centers drill thousands of perfectly aligned holes. We also perform internal grooving inside the holes to ensure strong tube-to-tubesheet joints.
