On March 27, a batch of incredibly massive, 150-ton class heavy-haul dump bodies successfully rolled off the Openex Metal Fabrication lines and boarded sea transport directly destined for the Australian mining sector.
Building on our legacy of providing structural earth-moving assets (having previously delivered a monumental 64-unit batch of 110-ton dump bodies directly to the Middle East), this new 12-unit OEM partnership required Openex to execute an extraordinarily high-tolerance, built-to-print ("build-to-spec") manufacturing scope designed exclusively by the customer for harsh outback terrain.

Operating massive mining assets leaves zero margin for manufacturing defect. Structural weakness from a sub-par weld under a 150-ton kinetic load yields catastrophic results. Our heavy industrial facilities acted as an entirely autonomous end-to-end "one-stop" contract manufacturer, executing the entire scope locally under ISO QA frameworks:
Openex leveraged rapid supply-chain sourcing to procure heavy abrasive-resistant alloy steels and precisely contoured massive canopy blanks via state-of-the-art CNC heavy thermal cutting lines.
Teams of certified structural operators orchestrated large-scale dimensional fit-up. Floor assemblies utilized a blend of automated Submerged Arc and robotic cell continuous passes explicitly mapped out to AWS (American Welding Society) Codes—preventing weld fatigue and stress under future shock-load.
Because precision hinges map massive truck geometries perfectly onto OEM chassis suspensions, we rotated entire bed sub-assemblies inside massive gantry milling / floor borer workstations. Pins and trunnion pockets were flawlessly concentrically turned and line-bored for true plug-and-play assembly.
Assemblies passed cleanly through immense blast rooms scaling down mill surfaces ahead of proprietary industrial epoxy-barrier application intended for corrosive off-highway elements, ending dynamically with safe multi-crane transloading solutions.
