High-Volume Trailer Bracket Production

Mass Manufacturing 5,880 Sets of Hydraulic Trailer Brackets

Project Overview

An internationally renowned trailer manufacturer based in the United States partnered with Openex Metal Fabrication to handle the mass production of heavy-duty hydraulic trailer brackets. Over the course of the project, we fabricated and delivered over 6,000 individual component assemblies (5,880+ full sets).

Because trailer frames and hydraulic assemblies endure constant dynamic road vibrations and high-stress load cycles, there was absolutely no room for variance between piece #1 and piece #6,000. Our challenge was scaling the production while maintaining flawless tolerances, rigorous weld penetration, and strict global supply chain logistics.

The Manufacturing Process

To fulfill the client's demanding timeline and structural integrity requirements, we leveraged our robust equipment automation capabilities, working specifically with thick Q345B (high-strength low-alloy) structural steel plates, profiles, and round bars.

1
Heavy Cutting & Forming

The 6mm to 12mm thick Q345B steel was heavily processed through high-precision CNC laser cutting centers and accurately bent on large-tonnage press brakes to guarantee exact fit-up geometries.

2
Automated Robotic Welding

To manage the massive scale, our technicians extensively utilized robotic welding cells. This automation eliminated manual fatigue on heavy, continuous joints, ensuring every structural bracket received perfectly penetrated and visually flawless welds.

3
Quality Control & Packaging

Grinding, assembly, final quality inspection, and custom secure warehousing were seamlessly handled in-house to maintain tight inventory control before transatlantic ocean freight shipping.
