Heavy Fabrication for High-Temperature Environments
Industrial furnaces and thermal processing equipment operate under extreme metallurgical stress. Components must withstand continuous high temperatures, thermal cycling, and heavy mechanical loads without warping or failing.
At Openex, we specialize in the heavy fabrication and machining of massive industrial furnace components, electric arc furnace (EAF) parts, and rotary kilns. Utilizing our 3000-ton press brakes, heavy plate rolling machines, and specialized welding automation, we manufacture massive furnace shells and heat-resistant internals that meet the strict tolerances of the metallurgy, cement, and chemical processing industries.
Furnace & Kiln Components We Manufacture
Rotary Kiln Shells & Tires
Heavy plate rolling and extreme-penetration welding for massive cylindrical kilns used in cement and mineral processing.
EAF Shells & Roofs
Water-cooled panels, upper and lower furnace shells, and exhaust ducts for Electric Arc Furnaces.
Charge Buckets & Ladles
Heavy-duty structural fabrication and machining for molten metal ladles and scrap charging buckets.
Furnace Bases & Skids
Heavy structural steel frames, planer-milled for perfectly flat installation of the main furnace body.
Manufacturing Capacities
We custom manufacture furnace equipment to your exact CAD models. Below are our general facility limits for thermal equipment production:
| Max Component Weight | Up to 250 Tons |
|---|---|
| Heavy Plate Rolling | Cold and hot rolling up to immense thicknesses for kiln and furnace shells. |
| Materials Processed | Carbon Steel (Shells), Heat-Resistant Alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, 310S/309S Stainless), and Boiler Plates (SA-516). |
| Heavy Welding | Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), FCAW, and GTAW. 100% X-Ray (RT) and UT tested welds. |
| Stress Relief | Massive on-site heat treatment furnaces for Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT). |
The Openex Manufacturing Process
We cut thick carbon or stainless steel plates using high-definition plasma/laser, then roll them into massive cylinders to form the main shell or kiln body.
Our certified welders execute multi-pass welds. Because thermal cycling causes weld fatigue, all critical joints undergo 100% Non-Destructive Testing (UT/RT) to ensure zero internal defects.
Mating flanges, riding rings, and drive gears are precision-machined on our massive vertical turning lathes (VTLs) and horizontal boring mills to guarantee a perfect seal and smooth rotation.
