Custom Industrial Skids

Modular Process Skids & Compressor Bases

Industrial skids are the modular backbone of the modern processing, oil & gas, and energy sectors. By consolidating pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping into a single structural steel frame, companies can drastically reduce on-site construction time and ensure optimal system integration.

Openex offers turnkey contract manufacturing for massive, heavy-duty industrial skids. Because these frames must support high-vibration rotating equipment, we utilize deep-penetration welding, thermal stress relief, and large-scale gantry milling to ensure motor and pump mounting pads are perfectly parallel and flat. With our 180-acre facility and 250-ton lifting capacity, we can fully assemble and load massive skids directly onto heavy transport vehicles.

Industrial Skid Fabrication Specifications

We custom manufacture structural skids based on your engineered blueprints and P&ID requirements. Below are our general facility capacities:

Maximum Dimensions Up to 25 meters (Length) x 6 meters (Width)
Maximum Weight Up to 250 Tons (Fully Assembled Skid)
Materials Processed Carbon Steel (A36, Q345), Stainless Steel (304/316) for hygienic/corrosive environments, and Duplex.
Precision Machining Planer milling of equipment mounting pads for extreme flatness to prevent shaft misalignment.
Coatings & Finishing Offshore-grade multi-part epoxy, polyurethane painting, and hot-dip galvanizing compatibility.

Skid Types We Manufacture

🛢️ Pump & Compressor Skids

Heavy structural bases engineered to dampen vibration and support high-torque rotating machinery for the Oil & Gas sector.

⚗️ Chemical Process Skids

Stainless steel modular skids supporting chemical reactors, mixing tanks, and complex piping assemblies.

Power Generation Skids

Massive structural frames designed to house diesel generators, gas turbines, and transformer equipment.

💧 Water Treatment Skids

Corrosion-resistant frames integrated with filtration units, RO membranes, and heavy-duty valves.

The Openex Skid Manufacturing Process

1
Heavy Structural Welding & Fabrication

I-beams, C-channels, and heavy plates are cut, fit, and welded by AWS-certified personnel using full-penetration SAW and FCAW methods to form the rigid base frame.

2
Thermal Stress Relief

To ensure the skid does not warp after equipment installation, the entire welded frame is placed in our massive on-site furnace to relieve internal stresses.

3
Planer Milling (Motor Alignment)

The stress-relieved frame is placed on our large gantry mills. We precisely machine the mounting pads for motors and pumps, ensuring they are perfectly co-planar to prevent shaft misalignment and bearing failure.

4
Finishing & Final Assembly

The frame undergoes steel grit blasting and is coated in our specialized paint booths. If required, we can mechanically assemble pressure vessels, pumps, and structural mezzanines onto the skid before shipping.
