Process & Rotating Equipment

High-Speed Precision Components

Process equipment and rotating parts in the pulp and paper industry must withstand intense friction, highly corrosive chemicals, and continuous high-speed rotation. Flawless fabrication, heavy precision turning, and extreme dynamic balancing are non-negotiable. At Openex, we utilize massive CNC vertical turning lathes (VTLs) and dynamic balancing equipment to manufacture flawlessly smooth, perfectly weighted rotating components.

Drying Cylinder Manufacturing

Drying Cylinders

The Yankee Dryer is the heart of the tissue-making process. Because paper web rides directly on this massive heated drum at incredibly high speeds, surface imperfections cannot be tolerated. We perform heavy plate rolling, precision automated welding, and utilize giant Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) to achieve mirror-finish surface tolerances and strict dynamic balance, ensuring completely vibration-free rotation under steam pressure.

Max Diameter: Up to 8M
Pulper Rotor Blades Machining

Pulper Rotor Blades

Handling harsh impact from recycled pulp bales and aggressive bleaching chemicals, rotor vanes must maintain their critical fluid-dynamic shapes to efficiently defiber pulp without clogging. We CNC mill thick wear-resistant and stainless steel plates, providing complex multi-axis blade geometries and specialized hardened edge treatments to maximize the operational lifespan inside your hydrapulper.

5-Axis Heavy Machining
304L Stainless Steel Tube Sheets

Tube Sheets

Pulp digesters and liquor evaporators utilize massive shell-and-tube heat exchangers to recover energy. We precision drill large-diameter tube sheets from 304L/316L stainless or duplex stainless steel forgings using multi-spindle deep hole CNC drills, guaranteeing perfect leak-free tube-to-sheet bonds even under extreme corrosive thermal loads.

ASME / TEMA Compliant

The "No Vibration" Guarantee: Balancing & Testing

When processing paper at 2,000 meters per minute, any unbalance in the drying cylinder will tear the sheet and destroy bearings. Our QA department provides extensive non-destructive and dynamic testing protocols on all rotating mill components:

  • Precision Dynamic Balancing: Eliminating rotating eccentricity mass.
  • Surface Roughness (Ra) Inspection: Exacting micro-grinding for perfectly smooth web pickup.
  • Weld Seam Radiography & UT: Validating structural integrity inside pressure-vessel drying cylinders.
  • Stress Relief Heating: Heavy on-site furnaces to ensure metals don't warp during rotational operations.
