Structural Steel Fabrication

Building the Future

Expert Fabrication of Large-Scale Structural Steel

Structural steel provides the skeleton for our world's most critical infrastructure, from soaring skyscrapers and long-span bridges to heavy industrial plants. At Openex, we are an AISC certified fabricator with the capacity and expertise to execute complex structural steel projects of immense scale and complexity.

Our process is built on a foundation of precision and quality control. We leverage advanced 3D modeling and detailing software (Tekla, SDS/2) to create a flawless digital blueprint. This model drives our automated CNC beam lines, plasma cutters, and robotic welders, ensuring every column, beam, and truss is fabricated to exact specifications. Our CWI-led quality team oversees every connection, guaranteeing compliance with all project requirements.

Our Structural Steel Fabrication Workflow

1 CNC Processing & Fitting

Beams, columns, and plates are precision cut, drilled, and coped on automated CNC lines. Our expert fitters then assemble these components into large-scale weldments.

2 Structural Welding

Certified to AWS D1.1 standards, our welders employ SAW, FCAW, and GMAW processes for complete joint penetration (CJP) on critical connections for maximum strength.

3 Blasting & Painting

Fabricated steel is moved to our indoor blasting and painting bays, where we apply high-performance industrial coatings (zinc, epoxy, urethane) for corrosion protection.

4 Trial Assembly & Logistics

For complex structures, we perform a full trial assembly in our yard to ensure perfect field fit-up. We then manage all logistics for oversized global shipping.
